Movie Guide

Movies and books are an escape from reality. So how ironic is it that we demand films to be more realistic?

Quite the unsatisfied bunch, aren't we?

But anyway, I'm doing movie guides now. Lol.

Nah. I just sorted through new trailers and marked these three as my must-sees:

Violet & Daisy
Basically 'cause Saoirse Ronan is in it. This girl knows how to choose her movies. I've adored her since The Atonement. Besides the great plot, the main reason I watched Atonement was supposedly for James McAvoy. But Saoirse stole the spotlight. Her succeeding movies have been balancing on the border of surrealism such as The Lovely Bones, Hannah, and then Violet & Daisy. I'm sure it'll be interesting. From the trailer, it looked like Hannah and Hitgirl (from Kick Ass) joined Susie Salmon (The Lovely Bones) in purgatory.

The Lifeguard
I'm a Veronica Mars fan so that translates to me liking Kristen Bell. I thought this was a comedy (which is the genre she's slowly being known for) but it turns out to be a coming of age film. And by coming of age, I mean, a 29 year-old who's got a good college degree yet is still in the process of finding herself.

...I KNOW! How apt. And get this, the first line in the trailer: "My life hasn't turned out like I pictured." ENOUGH SAID.

About Time
It's a chick flick. Need I say more? You see words like "from the makers of Love Actually" on the poster so of course you vow to watch it. Plus Rachel McAdams is just so good in these kinds of movies. And what appealed to me was that the plot is another one of those time-bending stories where one can go back to the past and manipulate some events in his/her life. The Butterfly Effect, The Family Man, The Time Traveller's Wife all revolved around this storyline and they all were very interesting films. At least, to me. Time-travel is a secret dream super power, ergo, this is a must-see movie for me.

That's it. Bye. :)
