Prenuptial Photos: Jeff & Mitch

Thanks to my friend James, I was able to meet wonderful people last Sunday to photograph a sweet couple who are to be married next year. :) It was tiring but super fun. Congrats and best wishes, Jeff and Mitch!

Snapshots: Kadayawan 2014

For the first time since childhood, I went out to celebrate Kadayawan on the streets, despite the heat and the crowd. I failed to secure an entry pass to the performance area, so I was supposedly fine with watching from the far side of the street and taking worthless photographs of the dancers' backs. However, thanks to a policeman -- who either pitied me or was shocked when I just squatted on the road while the rest of the crowd was behind me-- I was able to sneak my way past the perimeter ropes and eventually found myself right smack at the center (sidenote: stealth is one of the perks of the height-deprived).

Street Photography

Hello! I just wanted to share my shots from a street photography workshop I joined last January.

We were a class of about 11 people and went around Davao City (well, not really. We just rounded a couple of areas) and pointed our cameras to whatever caught our eyes--or, in this case, our lenses. The class was headed by Ms. Jojie Alcantara, who later discussed with us the good and bad points of our photo entries. At the final batch of submissions, I got 3rd place for the photo below:

Let's face it. You think the photo is meh. Well, so did I. If anything, this was just a filler, to complete the 5 entries that we had to submit. But as we learned from the workshop, it's usually the shots that tug at the heart that win the awards. So there. You can expect a gazillion sad photos from me in the future.
